Cowpeas are a legume with many branches, three leaves. They are an annual plant that grows in warm weather. The length of the plant ranges between 30 and 152 centimetres. Groups of flowers grow on its top, the number of each group ranging from 12 to 15 flowers, and their color is pale yellow. The ripe color of this plant is either yellowish-brown or black, and the scientific name of cowpeas is Vigna radiata L.
